It was so nice that Peter came with me to this appointment.

We were told that the closest thing to an accurate diagnosis based on observation of Henry and examination of all the previous workups (genetic, neurology, therapies) is one of cerebral palsy.

The doctors believe that some of the traits he exhibits which are autistic-like can be more easily attributed to his delayed motor skills.

Even though we have quite a few more appointments to schedule with other specialists and much more therapy in our future, I feel huge relief knowing we probaby aren't also dealing with a diagnosis of autism.

I spent about 20 minutes in Henry's room tonight reciting "Goodnight Moon" (which he recognizes from the second sentence) and talking about his new room and asking him questions about today.  I know he understands more than he can express.  Everything I talked about in his new room, he looked in the direction and when I said "you have your own basketball hoop and toys", he said "play".  When I asked questions, he responded.

Standardized tests are so hard and don't fully capture how much he has grown in only four months.
